Camondo Family
The Camondo family was only one of the thousands of Sephardic Jewish families who had to leave Spain in 1492, expelled by the monarchs after the Reconquista. The family moved to Venice and then to the heart of the Ottoman Empire, Constantinople when Venice came under Austrian rule in 1798. The family started to get rich with the banking company “Isaac Camondo & Cie” which was established under the leadership of Ishak Camondo in 1802.

DeCamondo Galata, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is located right in the middle of Istanbul, Galata neighbourhood. The hotel itself consists of two different properties located only one block away from each other by walking distance. DeCamondo Galata House Building (on Felek Street) and DeCamondo Galata Banque Building (on Bankalar Street).
DeCamondo Galata House Building and DeCamondo Galata Banque Building serve the same quality of Marriott Bonvoy high standards to the guests. But has only differences in design & decoration details.
House Building is decorated in more authentic and historical details when Banque Building has modern way of design feeling.
You may choose in which building to stay according to your mood and taste.
In DeCamondo Galata, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, we name our two buildings as House Building and Banque Building. If you have booked a room with the name starting House (exc. House Superior Queen) then your reservation is in House Building on Felek Street. If you have booked a room with the name starting Banque (exc. Banque Superior Twin) then it means your reservation is in Banque Building on Bankalar Street.
We would be happy to arrange a private transfer for you on coming and leaving Istanbul from both two airports (Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport). Please share with us your passport and flight details at least 24 hours advance from your flight schedule through e-mail.

Due to the location of the district we are in, we cannot offer parking space to our guests nor can we provide valet service. If you are travelling by car, you may prefer parking lots options located nearby.
For our guests who are travelling by car, we have a limited free parking area (4 vehicles) during their stay in DeCamondo Galata, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. The parking place is located in front of the Banque Building (
Bankalar Cad. No:8) and our guests can only get benefit from this service depending on the availability. In case of no availability, we advice you to prefer other parking area options nearby.
